bradkl
Hi, I'm almost set up to use osc. I should be able to admin osc with an admin panel via domain.name/admin. When I do this I get the following message: ------------------------ 1046 - No database selected select configuration_key as cfgKey, configuration_value as cfgValue from configuration [TEP STOP] ------------------------ Looks to me like I need to set a config file somewhere but don't know. Thoughts? Tx, Brad Klein
TCH-Bruce
Hang tight, I'm sure someone will be along that can assist you. But let me ask, did you create a database, create a user and add the user to the database?
TCH-Don
Welcome to the forum, Brad Did you install from your cpanel? or download and install it your self, if so the install instructions should have mentioned creating a database, a database user , adding user to the database. bradkl
Hi Don, Thanks for the response. The db's were transferred to TotalChoice by the support crew. I came from another web host. I can see the db's with phpmyadmin. I can also see that each user has been attached to each db using the cpanel/mysql tool. It tried two different logons/pw's. When I surf /admin, I still get the error. Any other thoughts? Did you install from your cpanel?or download and install it your self, if so the install instructions should have mentioned creating a database, a database user , adding user to the database. bradkl
Hi Bruce, The dbs were transfered from another web host by the Total Choice support folks. They look to be intact, and are OK when I repair them. Aside from that, I have two users attached to each db and still cannot logon with either logon. ?? bradkl
Now I've done it. Nothing comes up. http://www.herbsofgrace.com/ I was messing with the users and now, nothing. I set the users back to the way they were, but something is different. b
TCH-Don
Not familiar with osc but be sure the database config wherever it is is set up something like this. host: localhost database: yourCpanelName_databaseName user: yourCpanelName_databaseUser password: mypassword * Note password is just as the password, do not add the CpanelName to it. TCH-JimE
Welcome to the forums Bradkl. As don says, are the users that are connected to the userbase the one(s) that are mentioned in a config file? JimE
GroovyFish
Hi Bradkl, welcome to the forums! I haven't used OSC for a while, but there should be two configure.php files. One in the includes folder, and one in the admin/includes folder. Make sure both of those configure.php files have the correct information, such as the database login information and the paths to the catalog and admin folders, etc. Hope that helps!
