  1. Hope I can share these links: http*//seochat.com/ with their own forums: http*//forums.seochat.com/ great info here: http*//searchenginewatch.com/ hope that helps, !!blue
  2. LOL, that's a start. Thank you!
  3. eek! that gave me this: >career Chicago Office of Workforce Dev helps Chicagoans find and train for jobs; help businesses find workers Chicago Office of Workforce Dev helps Chicagoans find and train for jobs; help businesses find workers Chicago Office of Workforce Dev helps Chicagoans find and train for jobs; help businesses find workers Chicago Office of Workforce Dev helps Chicagoans find and train for jobs; help businesses find workers .... kinda scary, I had to stop the page from continuing to load.
  4. I do want a definition list so that each link has a short description. But the PHP script I'm using loops through the links and spits out each DB table row like this: >career Chicago Office of Workforce Dev helps Chicagoans find and train for jobs; help businesses find workers career Crain's Chicago Business Chicago business news, lists, rankings, directory and more career Creative Directory resource for the creative community in the Midwest ..... but I want the table rows to be shown like this, grouped together by type: >career Chicago Office of Workforce Dev helps Chicagoans find and train for jobs; help businesses find workers Crain's Chicago Business Chicago business news, lists, rankings, directory and more Creative Directory resource for the creative community in the Midwest ..... sorry, I didn't explain visually thanks, !!blue
  5. Oh my gah! Another article here: http://news.netcraft.com/archives/2004/11/...ome_easier.html Go update your WHOIS contact info for your website now!
  6. Ooop! I forgot that: key | type | name | url | desc key = number; auto increment unique id type = text; the type of link, e.g. 'css sources', 'entertainment', 'music' name = text; usually the title of the page url = text; the actual URL of the link desc = text; a short one or two sentence description of the link
  7. I've created a database of links with URIs, titles, and descriptions. It is uploaded safely to my website via phpMyAdmin. So I want to have a php page show the database similar to this hard-coded page on my blog (I'm making a replacement): http*//blog.zoblue.com/link-list.php I followed some tutorials online, and after some tweaking, it shows the page like this: http*//zoblue.com/connect.php Here's the PHP code that outputs the above: ><?php /* connection info taken out here*/ echo 'connected successfully' . "<br /><br />\n"; $query="SELECT * FROM linklist ORDER BY 2, 4;"; $result=mysql_query($query); $num=mysql_numrows($result); mysql_close($link); echo "<strong>Database Output</strong>\n<br />\n"; $i=0; while ($i < $num) { $type=mysql_result($result,$i,"type"); $name=mysql_result($result,$i,"name"); $url=mysql_result($result,$i,"url"); $desc=mysql_result($result,$i,"desc"); echo "<strong>" . $type . "</strong>\n"; echo "<dl><dt><a href='" . $url . "' title='" . $name. "'>" . $name . "</a></dt>\n"; echo "<dd>" . $desc . "</dd></dl>\n\n"; $i++; } echo "\n<br><br>\n"; ?> but I'd like to group the links by their category (the type column in the DB table). Can anyone help me do this? I can't wait for my PHP and MySQL books to come in the mail; young grasshopper has no patience. thanks, !!blue
  8. What AOL is doing seems to be working for them and getting them good PR to boot: http://news.google.com/news?hl=en&lr=&tab=...tnG=Search+News I, for one, support TCH in their decision as they always do what's best for their client (us) in the long run. The only way for this to change would be for users to complain to AOL since they are the ones with the strigent rules. I don't mean to downplay AOL either. I can say from experience that when my parents had AOL years ago, they were gently introduced to the concept of "the internet" and "email." Now they have another provider and are more knowledgable on most things web. AOL wants to be an entire package now, offering integrated email anti-virus and automatic computer repair. However, the user starts to rely on these tools instead of learning and researching for themselves. Well, not to get off tangent, I wholly support and continue to love TCH. Perhaps we can come up with a different method of forwarding to AOL? As TCH-Mike said, regards, !!blue
  9. thanks! I think I'll use the first method, since I'm not good at writing scripts.
  10. HAPPY NEW YEAR! Seeing as how some blogs are posting their 2004 year-end stats, I want to do the same. I came to the part in my AWStats for one of my subdomains that shows the Visitors domains/countries list. My question is how can I reference the images used for the flags in my webpage's code? Or do I have to save each image to my website? The current URL can't be viewed w/o logging in to my account, e.g.: h**ps://serverXX.totalchoicehosting.com:2083/images/awstats/flags/ca.png thanks, !!blue

  13. Raul, I love sharing pix of my KPax. Since I don't have any kids yet, she's my baby And, yeah, lotta neighbors say she looks like a hyena, she's what's called "brindle" color. Lisa, you're right. Some history says pit bulls were breed for baiting bulls as a form of entertainment. When that was banned, they turned to using dogs to kill rats. Eventually, people made the dogs fight each other. How people find this entertaining is beyond me. I like watching boxing, but the fighters don't kill each other and many times shake hands afterwards. I hope people can change their minds about these dogs and not train them to be mean. later, !!blue
  14. My doggy is half pit-bull, we don't know what her father was, but she's the most loving dog I've ever met. Yes, she does have bark but very little bite. Dogs are like kids, they'll learn hate if u teach them hate. There's a pic of her in the yard attached. Ain't she a cutie?! later, !!blue
