  1. I am using PHP to connect to a MySQL database on my site. Where should the passwords be stored and is there a recommended method for safety, like encryption? I know the passwords should not be stored in the PHP include.
  2. I am trying to set up a remote MySql connection. I added the public IP address for my remote server to the access list, but when I try to connect using MySQL Workbench from the remote server, I get this message "Connecting to MySQL server ... Authentication plugin 'mysql_old_password' cannot be loaded: The specified module could not be found. " I am using the full domain name , www.mydomain.org and port 3306, with the same db user and password as my PHP applications. Any ideas?
