  1. Thanks for your help. I finally found a hint in the documentation that clarified that this is something created within TYPO3 and not a folder I could add via FTP. Even though I couldn't find in the tutorial where it explains how to set this up, I was able to find "Sys Folder" in the glossary of the TYPO3 wiki (wiki.typo3.org), and from there I finally figured out how to set this up and then create users. I was very glad to finally find the wiki - it's a great resource for newbies!
  2. In trying to learn how TYPO3 works, I've been getting advice from experienced TYPO3 developers. One guy told me this: "The only drawback to a shared environment is a lack of root access to the server, which is needed in some cases for various TYPO3 extensions, and to secure TYPO3 so files can be written to by the server." Do these limitations apply to TCH? If I need an extension installed, can I install them (or at least, can the TCH staff install them for me)? I don't really understand what he meant by "to secure TYPO3 so files can be written to by the server," because I installed TYPO3 on a TCH server and I do seem to be able to write files. Thanks, Jesse
  3. I used Fantastico to install Typo3. But there's nowhere for me to add front-end users. When I click "List," I think I should see a folder called "Users" (along with various folders for pages) that allows me to create new front-end users. Based on the tutorial, before I can add users I think I might need to add a "sysfolder" called "Users," but I don't see how to add that. If anyone can point me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it. Thanks!
  4. Wow, thanks! I didn't have fantastico configured correctly, so I never saw all these CMS options, but the Help Desk just now fixed that for me. This is great - thanks!
  5. Thanks for continuing to add value! For the site builder, are you considering something simple, or a full-blown CMS? I am a reseller, and one of my clients really needs to move to a CMS, so I need to decide pretty soon whether I can keep their site at TCH or put them on a box with a CMS that meets their needs.
