  1. Thanks for the help. My ticket's submitted. Awesome super-quick responses from TCH as usual!
  2. Thanks Thomas. Once done I assume I'd then be able to point the old name elsewhere without having any effect on the new? Also - what if I want to point other domain names to the site in the future?
  3. Apologies if I'm in the wrong forum, but I'm in need of a little help! I purchased a new domain name, rpgsx3r.com and changed the name servers to match that of my existing site which is hosted with TCH, neilmalone.co.uk However, when going to the new domain i just get a 'cannot be found.' Am I missing a crucial step? What I effectively want to do is have the new domain name point to the site and then remove any links to the site from the old name. Is this a straightforward process? How best can I go about this? Any and all advice appreciated, thanks!
  4. Ok, I fixed it. Changing the password in CPanel sorted it first time! Thanks for looking!
  5. Hi all, I've not touched my site (www.neilmalone.co.uk) via FTP for a while, and have recently reinstalled OS and lost my FTP settings. I can reach the site fine, and can access CPanel fine, but can't connect via FTP. IS the username and password the same for FTP as it is for CPanel? Using Filezilla I'm getting: Status: Connecting to ftp.neilmalone.co.uk ... Status: Connected with ftp.neilmalone.co.uk. Waiting for welcome message... Response: 220---------- Welcome to Pure-FTPd [TLS] ---------- Response: 220-You are user number 1 of 50 allowed. Response: 220-Local time is now 08:02. Server port: 21. Response: 220-This is a private system - No anonymous login Response: 220-IPv6 connections are also welcome on this server. Response: 220 You will be disconnected after 15 minutes of inactivity. Command: USER XXX Response: 331 User XXX OK. Password required Command: PASS XXX Response: 530 Login authentication failed Error: Unable to connect! I vaguely remember having this problem in the past, but not the solution! I'm pretty sure it's just something simple I'm missing. Any suggestions?
  6. Thanks for the info guys. Everything seems ok anyway. Now all Ihave to do is learn a helluva lot about layouts and templates to personalise my site! Fun though!
  7. OK, I seem to have got MT up and running (well, I'm logged in and playing!) anyway, so I guess maybe the guide just has 1 or 2 superflous steps now... maybe!
  8. Hi all, please forgive me if this question has been raised before, or if there's an obvious answer (I couldn't see anything in this forum with a quick look). I'm completely new to Movable Type, though certainly not HTML, CSS and web design! I was following the guide to setting up MT (http://www.totalchoicehosting.com/help/id76.htm) but it doesn't seem written for the latest version of MT that I'm using, MT 3.31 For example, the guide mentions mt.cfg in step 3.1, but no such file exists. I assumed the equivalent is mt-config.cgi-original??? I edited this as close to what the guide said, but it didn't feel right! Anyway, after this I'm told in step 3.2.1 to go to edit mt-db-pass.cgi yet this file is not listed either. What should I be looking for? Again, apologies if this is blindingly obvious and I've missed it! Hope someone can point out where I've gone wrong.
