  1. And preferably cut and paste the html code in? That's as techie as I get.
  2. I'm redoing my pages. I have a lot of entries into old pages. How do I redirect those pages to the new pages so I don't lose traffic that has saved me in their favorites?
  3. It's the php forum in the cpanel. I deleted the forum. I don't know where to go to stop the emails. I'm getting about 10 an hour at my regular yahoo address.
  4. I had a forum, but I wasn't getting any traffic, so I stopped paying attention to it. Well, it got run over with spam of the naughty kind, so I shut it down. Now I'm getting dozens of emails from the server stating that no one can access my forum. I'm assuming because some computer programs are trying to access it over and over again to spam it. How do I turn off the emails?
  5. Sorry if this is in the wrong place. I never know where to post this stuff. My website is down. This following is the message on the page. What does it mean? What do I need to do? Internal Server Error The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request. Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@effectiveteachingsolutions.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error. More information about this error may be available in the server error log. Additionally, a 500 Internal Server Error error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Apache/2.2.11 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.11 OpenSSL/0.9.8e-fips-rhel5 mod_auth_passthrough/2.1 mod_bwlimited/1.4 FrontPage/5.0.2.2635 Server at www.effectiveteachingsolutions.com Port 80
  6. Do I click Publish and then the Import button to do that?
  7. I'm getting ready to purchase Adobe CS4. I understand that Dreamweaver has the capability to do a lot more. I know it will take me some time to learn it. If I want to move my site from Frontpage to Dreameweaver, what is the easiest way to move my content over into the new format?
  8. I just got a new computer. What is the best way to move my Frontpage files to my new computer?
  9. I want to buy Toplistx software from http://www.jmbsoft.com This is their list of must haves from a server in order to run the software: Must Have - Unix or Linux based server - PHP 4.3.0+ - PHP OpenSSL extension - PHP open_basedir no restrictions - PHP safe_mode disabled - PHP shell_exec() function available - PHP CLI version installed - Zend Optimizer - MySQL 4.0.4+ Optional (but highly recommended) - PHP GD extension - PHP cURL extension Does TCH have all of this? I'm not sure what all of it is to be honest. I just know what I want to achieve as the end result. Thanks.
  10. Does anyone know where I can purchase a quality microphone/headphone set for podcasting (brands???) that gives me a good price? So far I've found a price range of $85-100. Do I really need equipment that expensive? I DO want to create a QUALITY podcast. Any thoughts?
  11. Thanks. I'm going to watch and read next week when I have a little extra time and see if I can figure it out. Do you know what they mean by the 777 though?
  12. I thought perhaps I could do this for free, but I think it's just over my little techie head. I've researched a number of newsletter and email management sites. The best one I found (in case anyone else is looking) appears to be at www.mynewsletterbuilder.com Now I haven't actually used it, but as far as price and features go...They offer a 30 day free trial. As soon as I get my duckies in a row I'm going to give them a whirl.
  13. I'm bad about picking which forum to ask questions in...I hope I picked the right one. Here is my question: I have some software for an article directory. The directions tell me I need a hosting account that has PHP and allows you to create a MYSQL database. I've seen both of these "words" in my cpanel, so I'm thinking I have this with TCH (right?). Can you tell I'm a bit clueless? The directions tell me to upload my files to my server and set the files to 777 (What does it mean by 777?). Next it tells me to create MySQL database (How do I do that?). Then it tells be to enter a URL into my browser that looks like this: http://www.YourServerHere.com/admin/install.php I'm assuming that "YourServerHere" should be "totalchoicehosting". Right? Then I'm suppose to fill out a form. The next step tells me to set a cron job for a file to run every minute. How do I set a cron job? The next step tells me to set a cron job for a file to run once a week. So these are the directions with the last step logging into my admin area. This would all be lovely if I knew more about how to do this.
  14. How do I make some pages password protected, members only pages?
  15. This is an interesting way to learn a TCH techie person lives nearby. I'm about 30 minutes N of Galveston. It wasn't a fun experience, but we consider ourselves very lucky.
