Support Page Won't Load--Questions Re: Php Upgrade

Recommended Posts

I wanted to use a support ticket but I tried doing so through Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox--and support pages will not load.

I updated Joomla and I got a message:

Error
We have detected that your server is using PHP 5.4.45 which is obsolete and no longer receives official security updates by its developers. The Joomla! Project recommends upgrading your site to PHP 5.6 or later which will receive security updates at least until 2018-12-31. Please ask your host to make PHP 5.6 or a later version the default version for your site. If your host is already PHP 5.6 ready please enable PHP 5.6 on your site's root and 'administrator' directories – typically you can do this yourself through a tool in your hosting control panel, but it's best to ask your host if you are unsure.

Reading another forum post--it seems to indicate updates were made in February. I did check via Cpanel and see it says that it is

PHP Version 5.6.30

So I am confused as to why this message is showing and what can I do to make it see that the PHP version is up to date?

Thank you for any help,

Colleen M

We are running maintenance on our support desk, apologies for the inconveniences caused.

Regarding PHP 5.6, we do support PHP 5.4, PHP 5.5, PHP 5.6 and PHP 7.0 across all our shared and reseller servers. You can switch the php version of your site by logging into your cpanel and using the MultiPHP Manager on it.

You caught us doing a quick server swap. The Support site was relocated to a new more powerful server last night during non peak hours.

I can say that the new server is performing well beyond what we thought it would and the support pages are flying fast.

Thank you for your understanding.
